Printed Circuit Board Company Expands into New San Jose Facility
For Immediate Release – November 2010
SAN JOSE, CA Power Design Services, Inc., one of the fastest growing printed circuit board (PCB) and assembly provider in the Silicon Valley, has relocated to a new 8,000-square-foot facility in San Jose to accommodate its expanding operations.
The move to the new facility at 121 E. Brokaw Road will enable the eight-year-old company to streamline production by placing all of its operations under one roof.
Founding partners Tuan Tran and Keith Schenk said the move allows the company to streamline sales, marketing and manufacturing.
We can produce more and we can produce it faster, Tran said. There isn’t a lot of downtime. Issues are resolved quickly. Previously, company offices were located several blocks from the manufacturing plant, he said.
In spite of the uncertain economy, Power Design Services has experienced rapid growth by emphasizing customer service and quick delivery of prototype and small volume circuit boards and circuit board assemblies, said Tran. The new San Jose facility, less than a mile from San Jose’s Mineta International Airport, will further speed delivery times because operations will be more efficient, he said. The company now boasts 24-hour turnaround for most orders.
With more than 40 years of combined experience, Tran and Schenk started Power Design Services with an eye on keeping customers satisfied. We respond quickly on quotes, inquiries and issues, said Tran. All company employees have at least 10 years of experience in the industry, he said.
Power Design Services’ customers include large companies or small start-up firms that require circuit boards, circuit board prototypes and assemblies, and flex circuits for products in development. Low-volume production for established products is also available, Tran said. The ISO 9001-2000 certified company partners with firms such as Orion Manufacturing, Rogers Corporation, and Arrow Electronics.
